Description

The Drama Club is dedicated to bringing the joy and power of Drama to students. The club  will give students an opportunity to participate in supervised creative dramatic activities. Students will be exposed to different aspects of theater including impromptu skits, character development, team building, and much more! The club will work on creative thinking skills, encourage teamwork, and provide students with enriched learning experiences in the area of performing arts.

Description

Dance Club is an organization that allows it members to experience the wonder of dance and the joy of performing.  Students are exposed to different styles of dance.  They learn to see dance as an art, a way of expression.  Sometimes it is just the simple expression of fun and joy and other times there is a poignant message to be relayed.

Description

The Debate Club introduces students to the world of organized debate. Through exposure to different types, styles, and topics of debates, the club explores explore this art of "mental combat" and learn how to use data, logic, research, and reason to outwit an opponent and persuade an audience to a certain point of view. During the year, it will conduct several debates on topics suitable for all grade level students. Debate club members have a chance to test their speaking, communicating, and reasoning ability skills as well as explore timely and controversial topics that impact the school, community, and immediate society. Interested members will have the opportunity to explore more formalized and competitive debate formats, and hopefully including inter-school debate competitions. The club prepares them to formulate and defend their ideas and opinions in a more structured way. All grades and levels of experience are welcomed!

Students will learn the fundamentals of the game. They will learn basic basketball skills, which includes dribbling, shooting, passing and defense. There will be plenty exercises, games and competitions. Students will also learn positive interaction, sportsmanship, and listening skills.

An idea or story that is believed by many people but that is not true. In this club we get together to find the facts behind the myths something that actually exists; reality; truth. To get a truth known by actual experience or observation; something known to be true.

Storytelling is an ancient and valuable art that extends around the globe. In this unit, students develop their own storytelling talents, apply the techniques of storytelling, create storytelling guides, and perform a story for an audience. This unit can be taught to an entire classroom or given as a self-directed extension activity. Each lesson is quite short, and they can easily be combined.

Embroidery is the handicraft of decorating fabric or other materials with needle and thread or yarn. Embroidery may also incorporate other materials such as metal strips, pearls, beads, quills, and sequins. Today, embroidery is most often seen on caps, hats, coats, blankets, dress shirts, denim, stockings, and golf shirts. Embroidery is available with a wide variety of thread or yarn color.

This is a beginning level Photo Club that will introduce the fundamental skills in photography mechanics while exploring the possibility of the photograph as visual language. Students will be asked to keep a portfolio of their work, works in progress, and a photo journal where a record of their research, developing creative thinking, and problem solving will be kept. In this club you will learn together the mechanics of your camera, camera techniques, and experience creativity with photography and composition.
